Venous Insufficiency

Venous Insufficiency (MLD)

Chronic venous insufficiency is a common condition that results from difficulty in returning blood from the lower extremities to the heart. It can manifest as a feeling of heaviness, swelling, pain, night cramps, varicose veins and, in advanced stages, skin lesions or venous ulcers.

Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) can be a valuable complement to treatment, especially when venous insufficiency is accompanied by swelling or phlebolymphatic edema. With specialized, gentle manipulations, it helps to enhance lymphatic circulation, reduce swelling and relieve the feeling of heaviness and discomfort in the lower extremities.

The treatment is personalized according to the needs of each patient and can be combined with therapeutic exercise, compression therapy, education and instructions for the daily management of the condition, with the aim of improving functionality and quality of life.

To maintain the results of Lymphatic Drainage, a special compression garment compatible with each patient is administered.
